…..this could be my “3 minute 40 second answer”. I wonder how long the Target employees would let me sing before the security guard hauled me away! 🙂

This is Tiber Jumper of the Crossed the Tiber blog performing, by the way. You can hear about his journey to the Catholic Church on December 10th when he and his wife will be interviewed on EWTN’s The Journey Home program.

Sorry for the long silence around here.  I don’t like to post anything I haven’t thoroughly put my mind into….and my mind, by necessity, has been elsewhere these days.  I hope to have some more thoughts up soon.

I’m linking something I read today that was really thought provoking for me.  I’m not sure if I agree with all of the authors assertions, but the post, and the many comments that follow are worth mulling over.

On My Nightstand

Recently, I started reading an apologetic novel. It’s called A Philadelphia Catholic in King James’s Court. It’s the story of an orthodox Catholic family who, when faced with a terrible tragedy, goes to live with their evangelical, non-catholic, extended family for a time. As they live together, we watch them work through many of the common disagreements/misunderstandings non-catholics hold about Catholicism. The story is funny, interesting and thought provoking. It’s packed with apologetics yet is an easy read. I highly recommend it to anyone trying to understand Catholic beliefs.

So, what’s on your nightstand?

A Time to Mourn

Precious Jude died late this afternoon. I can’t imagine the depth of the heartache his parents are experiencing tonight.  Continue to remember him and his parents to the Father…….and give your babies (regardless of how old they are) an extra kiss tonight. To God Be The Glory.

Today (Thursday) is now 1 week since sweet, 2 year old, Jude fell into his grandparents’ pool and nearly died. Medically speaking, his odds are very poor. He needs a miracle. Would you join me, his parents, and many around the world who are offering up pleas to our Heavenly Father for Jude’s life? Here is his website: Jude. His parents are taking great comfort in the beautiful prayers and messages being written to them there if you feel so inclined.

Prayer of Saint Jude

(patron saint of the impossible)

Most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly – (for little Jude’s life) and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed Saint Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Please Pray Today….

For a little boy in our community who has been in intensive care since yesterday, fighting for his life after falling into a pool.  His parents, aunt, uncle, and grandparents are all people of great faith and are crying out to Jesus this morning for the life of this precious 2 year old.  Will you join with them?  His name is Jude.
